My Acronoids were designed as an entirely machine-based anthro species. Though their distant past is unknown, they largely operate as a formidable spacefaring civilization.

Design-wise, they were inspired by a variety of artworks and science fiction media. The concept art and 3D model were created by me as an amalgamation of these ideas.

Though this avatar was originally created for Second Life/Neos VR, both the textures and meshes have been entirely remastered for VRChat!

Acronoid is both the first of my Acronoid avatars to be ported to VRChat, as well as my first ever VR Avatar. I hope you'll consider supporting my work!

  1.  Create a new Unity file in version 2019.4.31F1

  2. Import the Poiyomi shaders by dragging them into the shelf.

  3. Import the VRChat SDK by dragging it into the shelf.

  4.  Open the WHIRLWIND_Acronoid_Synth unity package into the new file.

  5. On the top of your screen, choose VRChat SDK, then show control panel. Choose ‘BUILD AND PUBLISH FOR WINDOWS’ to upload to VRChat!

    • You will need to sign into VRChat, and be approved for avatar uploads.

  • If publishing doesn't work, open the scene file under Assets by dragging it into your layer stack, then try publishing again. Also, be sure to use Unity, and not the Creator Companion.

  • If you see a FileNotFoundException error, try deleting the Poiyomi folder in Unity and re-adding it a few times.

  • Users have reported issues exporting with the Creator Companion, however, exporting with Unity + a manual install of the SDK works.

  • If the Publish window does not appear, check to see that the Pipeline Manager script is active before exporting

  • A version has been uploaded to NeosVR with both multi-region color changing and expression changing! If you would like to use this avatar in Neos, contact me on Discord and I'll set you up with it!

  • Feel free to message V_Alexander #5775 on Discord if you have any questions!

  • I’m also available in my public Discord: https://discord.gg/Jwub2sfjDG

  • Feel free to edit/create mods as you see fit, but DO NOT UPLOAD THE AVATAR TO GUMROAD, OR DISTRIBUTE THE ORIGINAL FILES/AVATAR TO OTHERS!
